The Guardians of New Hope

The top and bottom statues where on a roof near the flower pot from the previous Weekend Reflections post. There were hundreds of other garden statues around the place too. They were amongst all sorts of rusty outdoor antiques. I only had my 50mm lens and I was glad to find so many interesting subjects to photograph.
Well, the rules said to be creative and it could be any face, so here are some stone faces for Sistertex's "Face of the Week" meme. You can see more faces here.

I'm si glad you are doing this. What great photos. Sorta grouchy looking but so cool. Real nice. :)

James, these are spectacular faces! Thank you so much! The bottom one looks a bit on edge...sleeping with one eye open.

I really appreciate your taking part.

«Louis» thought for a moment there that he had stumbled upon an image of his former father-in-law...

I see a theme here--hands on something, chin on hands...bored, bored, bored! I mean the characters in the photos of course, not the photos themselves!

Great faces.

I love the expressions. They reminded me of some of the meetings I used to attend at work!

Bonjour James!
Did you stay up late visiting blogs' friends? I ask because when I published my post (early morning today) I was taking my breakfast here (before 8am) and soon after, you were the first to comment!:)
Thanks so much for your kind words, I'm enchanted here , I liked a lot that link, thanks for the clue!I'm learning so much about photography with you.
These pictures are wonderful, they look like little leprechauns!I also liked so much the soft red like a detail colour and that lady looks so sad or those guardians are there just to protect her!?Who knows!
Léia :)

A curious place and some grotesque figures, excellent work with 50mm lens!

I heard NYC is the US city with the most gargoyles. I love gargoyles, chimeras, 'mascarons,' or whatever, and photograph them whenever I can, which isn't often, since there are none in Belgrade except this one.

Ha, ha.

Fabulous shots! I don't think I'd like Sneery and Grumpy from your second shot in my garden, though.

Very cool, James!! These are great.

I picked up the same 50mm lens last week. I haven't had much time to play yet.

They don't quite inspire hope, do they? Love their expressions! ;)

Glad you caught them asleep.

Please have a nice Wednesday.

These are wonderful shots, James. They are definitely faces with character...or are they characters with faces :)

Fascinating!
I would love to be able to stay in this position for a day!
I would have a hard time choosing the one I like the most.
Exellent job with a 50mm.

Magnifico! I love the rust red juxtaposed with the grays of number 2 with their eternally thoughtful posses. Very unique and original choices for the category!

I love the grin of the top image! I think he wanted to impart something.

James, thanks for the comments on my photography. There are countless of opportunities to hone my skills here in our area.

I am going to check out Sistertex meme.

Why are they so sad? Is it because it is freezing up there? LOL

All faces do it lively.
A human lovesick figure is expressed well.

Interesting creatures, but they look a little bored with their job! Or were they just camera shy?

I just love number 3. I have to say I feel like that sometimes after a hard day as UN Peacekeeper to two under-6s! I like the background stripes - they really add something.

I've seen these many times. Love the images.
