Chinatown Dragon

At first I could only see his smoke. Then a hand with a cigarette popped out. Then his head. After a short staring match he slowly disappeared behind the the bricks leaving only a lit cigarette, the stench of burning tobacco and an aire of mystery.

He looks so mysterious, or maybe just camera shy!

I always enjoy your people pictures, you manage to find such interesting subjects. All I find are cows and sheep! LOL

I find him mysterious, but not shy.. I'd like to picture people, but I never dare! And this one..I'm glad you took the picture, because I find it great and impressive, but I would not dare to picture this boy, he does not look very friendly..

As for the Chinatown series, human essence is expressed and is very interesting.

I like the movie screen cut of the image, the colors and the genuine gesture you have caught.

Cool pictures but I would like to know what that white contraption is. Odd.

Neat photo. Did he mind that you took his photo? Just curious; sometimes I find people that you just 'snap' wonder who you are....

These are great pictures James! Maybe he thought you were trying to catch him doing something he wasn't supposed to be doing.

He looks like he is up to something peeking around the corner of the building. Even he cannot stand his own smoke...he sticks the cigarette out out so others can choke on it.
Amazing capture! I wonder if you used a long lens and he really didn't see you...

It almost looks like a scene from a Western movie!

James - re the wind farms: this one is on Altamont Pass east of Livermore off of I-580, so, yes, it has been here at least 25 years.

I love candid shots of people but I rarely dare. So many of mine are taken from behind when they aren't directly looking at me cause I'm just too shy to confront strangers head on.

So I appreciate the bravery here. I also perused your Chinatown link and thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

Your enthusiasm for just about any subject no matter how grand or minute, and for life in all its aspects is clearly evident in your work.

Why didn't I see the snow...pffft. Good eyes Thom. Thanks for clarifying this for me. :) Have a great weekend :)
